Give tasks by voice and listen to the answers

Step by step: dictate into the field

1. Press ⌘. or click the mic in the message field. If the voice pack is missing, Hedoq opens the “Voice” window with an install button (about 2 GB, once).
2. The first time, macOS asks for microphone access.
3. Speak. The field shows that it is listening.
4. Press ⌘. again or Enter. Hedoq transcribes the recording, and the text lands in the field without being sent.
5. Edit the text if needed and press Enter.

Esc cancels the recording entirely. No need to set a language: you can mix Russian and English in one sentence.

Dictation in every app

1. Gear, Voice block, turn on “Dictation in every app”.
2. Now ⌘. works in any app: mail, messengers, notes.
3. The text goes wherever your cursor is.

Pasting needs Accessibility access. Without it, the text stays on the clipboard, and Hedoq tells you so.

Dictation vocabulary

Names, terms and project names come out more accurately if you list them. Gear, Voice block, “Dictation vocabulary”: type the words the way they should be written. Up to 600 characters.

Answers read aloud

1. In the message field, click the waveform button or press ⌘/. This is voice mode for this session.
2. If there is no voice yet, Hedoq offers to install it (about 1.2 GB).
3. When the agent finishes its turn, Hedoq reads the answer, with a short chime before and after.
4. When it is done, the button shows a circular arrow: click it to hear the answer again.

To stop it talking: Esc, a new recording, or sending a message. To turn voice mode off: ⌘/, right-click or Option-click the button.

Good to know

• Voices: four Russian ones and English. Hedoq picks the language from the text. Change the voice and speed in “Answer voice”.
• Answers from several sessions are read one after another.
• In voice mode the first message asks the agent to keep answers short.
• Answers are not read aloud in other apps.
• Once the packs are downloaded, voice works offline.
