Give agents tools: Google Sheets, a browser and other MCP servers
MCP servers give an agent new skills: spreadsheets, a browser, memory, folders. Connect once and they work in every session.
Step by step: connect a tool
- Gear, Agents block, “Agent tools”.
- Click ”+”. The catalog opens: Google Sheets, Browser (Playwright), Memory, Access to a folder on this Mac.
- If what you need is not in the catalog:
- “Connect by URL”: a hosted server at https://…;
- “Connect by command”: a program on this Mac, its arguments and variables.
- Click “Connect”. The tool appears in the list.
- “Check connection” shows which tools respond.
Google Sheets, step by step
- Pick “Google Sheets” in the catalog. Hedoq installs the Sheets component.
- Open Google Cloud with the button and create a service account. Download its key.
- “Choose key file”. Hedoq checks the file and keeps it in its own folder.
- Share the spreadsheets you need with the service account address Hedoq shows.
- Add spreadsheets by link. Hedoq takes the names and sheets from Google.
If there is no access, Hedoq says so: share the spreadsheet with the address above and try again.
What the labels mean
- http, sse: a server at an address. Claude Code sees these.
- on demand: a program on your Mac. Hedoq starts it for a single call instead of keeping it in every session. All agents see these: Claude, Codex and automation scripts.
- project: a tool from the project’s own settings.
Good to know
- Do not paste keys into the chat. The agent takes them from Keys and passwords.
- You can ask the agent to connect a tool in plain words: it knows how to do it in Hedoq.
- The “From your phone” group in the same section lists the iPhone tools. See agents using your phone.
- Backup agents in automations do not see servers by address: those belong to Claude Code. On-demand tools are visible to all.
