Start a session with an agent and pick a project
A session is one conversation with an agent in a project folder. Each lives as its own row in the sidebar.
Step by step
- Press ⌘N or click “New session” at the top of the sidebar.
- Type a name. The default is “Session N”.
- In the “Agent” row, pick Claude, Codex or another installed agent. “Custom command” starts any agent by its command, “Local model” opens your models.
- In the “Project” row, pick a project from Hedoq Space or “New project”.
- Optionally turn on “Separate copy of the project” or “Incognito”.
- Click “Create” or press Enter. The session starts right away.
Hedoq Space and sessions without a project
All projects live in the Hedoq Space folder in your home folder. “New project” creates a folder there named after the session. The “New session” window only offers projects from Hedoq Space.
Hedoq Space is yours: uninstalling Hedoq leaves it alone. You can move or rename it in Finder, and Hedoq will find it again.
What a sidebar row tells you
- Yellow timer: the agent is working.
- Green dot: a reply came in that you have not seen yet.
- Orange icon: the turn ended with an error.
- Blinking dot: voice is being recorded.
- Dimmed row: the session is asleep, with no process. Your next message wakes it up.
Double-click a row to rename it. Right-click for a menu: “Rename”, “Icon…”, “Changes” (for a separate copy), “Close”. Drag rows to reorder them.
The “On hold” section
A session you have not touched for 10 minutes moves down to “On hold”. At least three always stay on top. When a session starts working or replies, it moves back up by itself. To move a row by hand, drag it onto the “On hold” header.
Closing
Click the cross on a row or press ⌘W. If the project folder has files, Hedoq asks: “Delete project” or “Keep project”. An empty folder in Hedoq Space is removed quietly.
Good to know
- After you restart Hedoq, tabs come back on their own and the conversation continues where it left off. A reply that was streaming at that moment is cut off.
- The folder button in the toolbar opens “Session folder”: “Show in Finder”, “Copy path”, “Change folder” (Claude chats only).
- ⌘T opens a plain terminal.
