Make agent answers shorter and to the point

Hedoq gives every agent a starter set of rules: answer briefly, work first, never make things up.

Long answers with polite openings burn tokens and context space. The Hedoq starter set asks the agent to write briefly and to the point. Less filler means more room in the context and fewer trips to “Refresh session”.

What the starter set says

  • Answer briefly, in plain words, without greetings.
  • Do the work first, then report.
  • Do things yourself and call the person in last.
  • Know your Hedoq tools: keys from “Keys and passwords”, the phone, Telegram, agent tools.

The set reaches the agent behind the scenes; you do not see it in the feed. Claude and Codex get it.

Step by step: turn it on or off

  1. Click the gear in the toolbar.
  2. In the Agents block, find the “Brief agent answers” switch.
  3. It is on from the start. Turn it off if you prefer the agent’s usual tone.
  4. The setting applies to new sessions. Start a new session or restart the tab.

How to ask

Ask the way you would ask a colleague: “why does the site not build” or “add a sign-out button”. The answer comes back short: the cause, what was done, how it was checked.

Example

Question: “why does the sign-in page not open”.

Without the set, an agent often starts by praising the question, restates the task and lists generic tips. With the set, the answer is: the cause in one line, what was fixed, how it was checked. If it could not be checked, the agent says so.

Good to know

  • The switch only removes the brevity rules. The rest of the set (your tools, “do it yourself”) always stays.
  • Your own models do not get the brevity rules: a small model would spend its context window on them.
  • In voice mode, the first message also asks for short answers, since the answer is read aloud.
