Install Hedoq and start your first session
From download to the agent's first reply: install, macOS access and your first session.
Hedoq is free. It works with the agents you already have, such as Claude Code or Codex. You pay for model subscriptions directly to their makers; Hedoq does not resell model access.
Step by step
- Download Hedoq for Mac from hedoq.com, open the downloaded file and move Hedoq to your Applications folder.
- Launch Hedoq. The welcome tour opens: the steps on one side, a short text and a live example on the other. Move on with “Continue” or the arrow keys.
- On the “Access” step, click “Allow all” and answer the macOS prompts. That way a permission prompt will not pop up in the middle of an agent’s task. More in Components and macOS access.
- On the “Servers and keys” step, Hedoq shows the SSH accesses it found on this Mac. Servers from your shell history are off: turn on the ones you need, or skip the step.
- On the “Connect your own” step, Hedoq checks for Claude Code. If it is missing, click “Install”: it installs in a tab, so you can watch the progress.
- On the “Agents and voice” step you can install other agents and the voice packs. You can also do it later.
- Click “Finish”. Then press ⌘N or click “New session” in the sidebar.
- Type a name, pick an agent and a project. “New project” creates a folder named after the session in Hedoq Space. Click “Create”.
- Type your task in the field at the bottom and press Enter. The answer appears in the feed.
Good to know
- You can leave the tour with “Skip”. Everything you chose here can be changed later in Settings.
- To see the tour again, click the gear in the toolbar, then “Guide”. The same steps, in any order.
- Shortcuts: ⌘N new session, ⌘T terminal, ⌘O open a file, ⌘. voice, Esc stop the agent.
- If Claude Code is not installed, creating a session shows the “Claude Code required” window and installs it in a tab.
- A session starts right after you create it. Quit Hedoq and open it again: your tabs come back on their own, with the same conversation.
If something does not work
- The agent is silent and does nothing: check the Mac for a macOS window asking for access or a password.
- The session does not start: see Troubleshooting.
