View and edit project files next to the conversation
The session folder's files sit next to the conversation: view them, edit them and hand them to the agent.
Step by step: open a file
- Click the file tree button in the toolbar. The files of the open session’s folder appear on the side.
- Click a folder to expand it. Click a file: it opens as a tab in the toolbar.
- Other ways: ⌘O or ”+” in the tab bar, clicking a file path in the terminal, or “Open With” in Finder.
Edit a file
- The editor highlights code by file extension. ⌘F searches, ⌘S saves.
- Markdown is rendered. The “Preview / Text” switch shows the source.
- An unsaved file has a dot on its tab. Closing it asks what to do.
- Open files come back after a restart.
Hand a file to the agent
- The button on a tree row puts the file path into the message field.
- Drag a file from Finder onto the session: its path goes into the field.
- ”+” in the message field lets you pick files.
- ⌘V pastes an image from the clipboard: Hedoq saves it as a file and inserts the path.
Drag a file from Finder onto the window’s toolbar to open it as a tab. Onto the notch, and it goes to the shelf.
Images in the feed
- Images the agent opened or mentioned stay in place in the feed as thumbnails.
- Click one to open the viewer: pinch or ⌘ with the scroll wheel zooms, a double click zooms in, the arrow keys flip through, Esc closes.
- Files in the feed show as a line with their size. Click to show the file in Finder.
Good to know
- The tree only shows the open session’s files. Hidden service folders like
.gitare not shown. - A session on a server over SSH has no file tree.
- Images pasted with ⌘V or dropped into the window are kept for 7 days.
