Run multiple Claude Code sessions in parallel
Two or more agents on one project, each editing its own copy instead of shared files.
Free · Mac and iPhoneWhy agents get in each other’s way
Start two agents in one folder and they edit the same files. One rewrites what the other just did, tests fail for someone else’s reason, and it is hard to tell who broke what.
A copy of the project for each session
The new session window has a “Separate copy of the project” switch. With it, the session works in its own copy, and your project stays untouched until you decide.
- Press ⌘N and pick the project.
- Turn on “Separate copy of the project” and press “Create”.
- Give the agent its task as usual.
- When the work is done, open “Changes”: files on the left, what changed on the right.
- Press “Apply to project” or “Discard all”.
One big task, several agents
In the lead session, press ⚡ and choose “Split the task into parts”. The lead splits the work into parts that do not touch the same files, writes down a shared agreement on names and structure, and starts a session for each part in its own copy. The answers come back to the lead, which checks the result.
What it needs
The project is under Git with at least one commit. Without copies, sessions can still share one folder, but then they see and edit the same files.
Questions
Can I mix Claude Code and Codex?
Yes. You pick the agent per session, and project copies work the same for both.
Where are the project copies kept?
Outside the project folder, in ~/.hedoq/worktrees. The project's .env files are copied into each copy.
What if the project has no Git?
Project copies rely on Git. If it is missing on your Mac, Hedoq offers to install it with one click.
