Record a meeting and get a summary without a bot on the call
Hedoq records a call in any app, transcribes it by speaker, and an agent writes a short summary.
No bot has to join the call. Hedoq records two tracks on your Mac: your microphone and the system audio where the other side is heard. It works with any calling app.
Before your first recording
Two macOS permissions are needed: “Microphone” and “Screen & System Audio Recording”. Hedoq asks for them during the welcome tour. If you skipped them, grant them in “macOS access” (see components and access). The transcript needs the voice pack, and the summary needs Claude Code.
Step by step
- Start your call as usual.
- Hover the notch and click “Record meeting”.
- Answer “How many people?”: from 2 to 10. That is how Hedoq labels the other voices.
- Recording is on, and the notch shows a clock.
- When the call ends, click “Stop”.
- Hedoq transcribes the recording by speaker. The notch shows “Transcribing…”.
- A “Meeting recording (date time)” folder appears on your desktop: audio, transcript and summary.
- Hedoq opens a Claude session, and the agent writes Summary.md into that folder. You can open it right in Hedoq.
What the summary contains
- What the meeting was about, in a line or two.
- What was discussed and what was decided.
- Who does what: task, owner, deadline.
- Dates and deadlines.
- Open questions.
The agent is told not to make anything up. Doubtful words and numbers get a question mark.
Good to know
- During the call, audio is only written to a file. Transcription starts after “Stop”.
- The voices are split by a machine and it can mix people up. If someone is called by name in the call, the agent uses the name.
- Hedoq never deletes anything from the meeting folder. The recording stays yours.
- An empty recording, or one with no speech, does not open a summary session.
If something does not work
The other side is missing from the recording: check “Screen & System Audio Recording” in System Settings.
