Orca and Hedoq are the closest pair here: both are free, both use your own subscriptions, run agents in parallel in separate project copies and let you follow them from your phone. The choice comes down to what you work on and what you need around the sessions.
When to pick Hedoq
- You give tasks by voice right on the Mac. Hedoq recognizes speech on your computer and can read replies aloud. The audio never leaves the Mac.
- You want agents from different companies to work together: a council of models under a lead session, one session handing a task to another and getting the answer back on its own.
- You want limits and sessions in view without opening a window: by the notch on the Mac and in the Dynamic Island on iPhone.
- Automations that the agent builds itself, with a watchdog that checks every run, would help.
- You need meeting notes with a summary, or work with the lid closed: turn on “Stay awake with the lid closed”.
When Orca is the better fit
- You work on Windows or Linux, or your phone runs Android. Hedoq exists only for Mac and iPhone.
- Open source matters to you.
- You need GitHub, Linear and Jira integrations, or Cursor and GitHub Copilot as agents.
How to switch
- Download Hedoq for Mac and open the same project folder.
- Start a session with the same agent. Your subscriptions and keys stay yours.
- For parallel work, turn on “Separate copy of the project”, then bring the result back with “Apply to project”.
