The Codex app is made for people who work with Codex and ChatGPT. Hedoq is for when you have several agents: Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenCode or your own models through Ollama and LM Studio.
When to pick Hedoq
- You pay for several subscriptions. Hedoq shows the limits of every connected service by the notch. In automations, when an agent runs out of limit, Hedoq hands the task to another agent.
- You want agents from different companies to work together: a council of models under a lead session, one session handing a task to another and getting the answer back on its own.
- You don’t want your voice in the cloud. Hedoq recognizes speech on your Mac.
- You want the Mac to keep working with the lid closed: turn on “Stay awake with the lid closed”. Meeting notes with a summary come in handy too.
When the Codex app is the better fit
- You’re on Windows or Linux. Hedoq exists only for Mac and iPhone.
- You want Codex cloud tasks that run without your computer, without setting up your own server.
- You want live voice conversations with the agent and Codex is all you use.
- You’re on the free ChatGPT plan and the Codex it includes is enough.
How to switch
- Download Hedoq for Mac. Codex runs there with your ChatGPT account or API key. If Codex isn’t installed, Hedoq offers to install it in one click.
- Open the same project folder and start a Codex session.
- For parallel work, turn on “Separate copy of the project”, then bring the result back with “Apply to project”.
